Terms of Service — Agreement and Guidelines

Orange Turtle — Terms of Service

Effective Date: 28 September 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Orange Turtle (the “App” or the “Service”), a mobile application operated by Wontle Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17061501, with its registered office at 17 Arundel Close, Warwick, England, CV34 5HZ (“Wontle”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, or by using the App as a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or send messages on Orange Turtle. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not independently verify age — this is a representation you make to us, and providing false information about your age is a breach of these Terms and grounds for account termination.

Orange Turtle is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.

3. Your Account

  • To send messages, react to content, or report content, you must register an account using a valid email address and password.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information (including your display name) and keep it up to date.
  • Display names are unique across the platform; we may reject or require you to change a display name that duplicates another user’s, impersonates another person or entity, or violates Section 5 below.
  • You may browse most of the App without an account in Guest Mode — see Section 7.

4. The Service

Orange Turtle organizes group conversations into topics and sub-topics that any registered user can join and post in. Messages you send are visible to other users participating in the same topic/sub-topic. This is a public/semi-public group-chat environment, not a private messaging service — do not share anything in a chat room that you would not want visible to other participants.

Features include: text messaging, emoji reactions, user reporting and blocking, and (for registered users) a profile with a display name and optional profile picture.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Orange Turtle to:

  • Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age;
  • Post sexually explicit content, or any content involving or sexualizing minors — this is never permitted under any circumstances;
  • Post content that infringes another person’s or entity’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, including copyrighted text, images, or other material you do not have the right to share;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity;
  • Harass, bully, stalk, or intimidate another user;
  • Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or engage in any activity that manipulates or disrupts the Service (including automated posting or scraping);
  • Share another person’s private information without their consent (“doxxing”);
  • Attempt to circumvent any content filtering, moderation, or account restriction we apply;
  • Upload or transmit malware, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts;
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any applicable law.

We use a combination of automated content filtering and human review to detect and act on violations of this section. Our automated filtering works by blocking messages containing a maintained list of prohibited words and phrases before they are sent; all other moderation actions — including warnings, account locks, and message removal following a report — are decided by a human moderator, not automatically. We may remove content, restrict, suspend, or permanently lock any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion and without prior notice, in accordance with Section 8.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant Wontle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service — for example, delivering your messages to other participants in the same chat room, and retaining a copy for the periods described in our Privacy Policy for moderation and safety purposes.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, User Content posted by any user.

7. Guest Mode

You may use Orange Turtle without registering an account (“Guest Mode”). In Guest Mode you can view public topics and sub-topics, but you cannot send messages, react to content, or file reports. Reporting is limited to registered accounts so that every report is tied to a rate-limited, accountable channel, protecting the reporting system from anonymous abuse. Because registered users can view the same public topics and sub-topics as guests, no content is placed outside the reach of reporting as a result — only the reporter must be registered, not the content. Registering an account takes moments (see Section 3). Guest Mode does not collect any personal information from you beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Moderation, Reporting, and Enforcement

We provide tools to report messages and users who violate these Terms. We aim to review reports promptly. Depending on the severity and nature of a violation, we may:

  • Remove or hide the offending content;
  • Issue a warning;
  • Temporarily or permanently lock the reported account, restricting or preventing further access to the Service;
  • Take any other action we consider appropriate to protect the Service and its users.

We retain a record of reports and the content reported, for the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy, to support this process and to comply with our legal obligations.

When we remove content or lock an account, we will proactively notify the affected user by email. This notice will explain what action was taken, the specific provision of these Terms that was violated, whether the decision was made by a human moderator or an automated system, and how to appeal. Warnings, which do not restrict your access to the Service, are also communicated by email as a matter of practice, though they do not carry the same formal notice requirements as content removal or account restrictions.

Decisions to remove content or restrict an account are made at our discretion. If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may appeal by emailing admin@wontle.com within 5 working days of the action, explaining why you believe it was mistaken. We aim to review appeals and respond within 5 working days, though this is a target rather than a guaranteed timeframe.

9. Advertising

Orange Turtle is supported in part by advertising, served through Google AdMob. Ads may be shown within the App. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising data is collected and used, and how you can manage ad personalization where applicable.

10. Regional Availability

Orange Turtle is currently made available for download in most countries and regions, with the exception of Russia, China, and North Korea, where the App is not offered on the Google Play Store. This is a business decision made by Wontle and is not a statement of compliance with, or a substitute for, any government sanctions, export control, or trade restriction regime. If you access the App from a jurisdiction where its use is restricted or prohibited by local law, you are responsible for complying with that law.

11. Intellectual Property and Copyright

The App, including its design, logos, and underlying software (but excluding User Content), is owned by Wontle Ltd or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

You may not post content that infringes another person’s or entity’s copyright or other intellectual property rights (see Section 5). If you believe content on Orange Turtle infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to our designated agent under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), whose contact details are set out in Section 19. Your notice should include: identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; identification of the infringing material and its location within the App, with enough detail for us to locate it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner; and your physical or electronic signature. On receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the identified material.

Consistent with Section 8, accounts found to have repeatedly infringed copyright will be subject to enforcement action up to and including permanent termination.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful content — while we operate content moderation systems, we cannot guarantee that all violating content will be caught before other users see it.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wontle Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Wontle Ltd harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your User Content.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the App, or by emailing support@wontle.com from the email address linked to your account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example by emailing the address linked to your account or posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect will be subject to the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

18. Accessibility

We want Orange Turtle to work well for everyone. The app currently supports light and dark themes, and we’re continuing to invest in making the experience more accessible over time. If you have feedback about accessibility, or run into any difficulty using the app, please contact us using the details in Section 19 (Contact Us) — we’d like to hear from you.
